Self catering holidays

At Casa Amarilla there a number of self catering options and we hope that you will be able to find one suitable for your holiday break. Take a look below to see if there is something to suit you if not then contact us with your ideas and requirements - you never know we may just be able to come up with a solution.

Los Olivos

Los Olivos is a 48 sq m. Nordic style wooden house complete with all you will need for your stay,

The front door leads straight off the terrace and into a sitting/dining room where there is a sofa bed, a fold up bed and armchairs to relax in. In one corner is the dining space with a table and chairs also the Video and hi fi equipment is here. In the right hand corner is a well fitted kitchenette with a four burner hob, small fridge, microwave, sink and storage cupboards.

In the room an overhead fan aids ventilation in summer and we provide butane heaters  for the cooler winter months. Double french windows look over the terrace towards the pool, the river and Portugal beyond.

The bedroom has a king size double bed, a large wardrobe with storage drawers under as well as a chest of drawers and bed side tables and lights. Overhead there is a fan for summer ventilation.

The well appointed wash room has a shower, bidet, w.c. and sink.

Outside there is a full width terrace with garden chairs and a table for al fresco dining or just simply relaxing with a book and a drink.

Windows are double glazed with fitted mosquito screens and the whole building is well insulated. With 220v electricity, gas water heating, tiled floors and a large terrace this is a real home from home.

La Casita

Immediately adjacent to but completely independent of Los Olivos is La Casita. An en suite, one room garden house of approximately 13 sq m which is brightly furnished with twin single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and chair.

A modern wash room with shower sink and wc is en suite and completes the accommodation. For the essential early morning drink we provide a portable two burner gas hob.

Outside there is a full width terrace with table and chairs.

La Casita can be used as an extra bedroom for the guests in Los Olivos, either for a second couple who will not feel second best, or for the children. A sofa bed sounds good for the kids, but it does not work if they go to bed before the olds! Alternatively if used independently from Los Olivos guests can either self cater using the gas hob and barbecue by the pool or be on a bed and breakfast basis eating  with us in Casa Amarilla or in one of the nearby restaurants or bars.

Both wooden houses are 'eco lodges' by which we mean they are made from materials supplied from renewable resources and use solar energy as far as possible for power.

Casa Amarilla

For larger parties there is a further double bedroom situated below the main terrace of Casa Amarilla. Having a totally independent front entrance guests will find that the short step of around 40 metres from Los Olivos is no hindrance and the pool is equally handy. A large comfy double bed fits out the bedroom which also has an inbuilt wardrobe, table, chest of drawers and chair to complete the deal.

The wash room is a 'wet room' with shower basin and w.c.

We provide a small one burner hob for that essential early morning drink which can be enjoyed on one of two private terraces both looking toward the field and river.

In all the accommodation linen, towels, blankets, duvets and pillows are provided as well as crockery and cutlery. Most windows have mosquito screens fitted. Gas, electricity and water is included.

For those on a self catering basis we provide a 'welcome pack' for your arrival which will include a few basics such as tea, coffee, milk and sugar plus some bread, spread and preserve. Also included are a couple of beers to start you off, some drinking water and some fresh produce or fruit depending on what is currently growing in the vegetable plot. All organic!! We suggest, however, that you  purchase your groceries before you arrive and if you want some advice on this please just ask. Note that the tap  water is from our bore hole and whilst we drink it, filtered and boiled and it is quite pure but we would recommend that you buy some additional drinking water to avoid the chance of an upset tum.

Sounds good? Keep going............
